MUA Pro-Base Conceal & Brighten Kit [Review]

Dear readers,

Today I will be talking about another MUA product (for a change....hehe).

I bought the Conceal & Brighten Kit as soon as it was launched on the website (little was I to know that they would launch more lovely stuff the day after, sob!)

I have been using this palette everyday since I got it, and I must say that it does its job really well.

The kit comes in a small plastic palette; the transparent lid is ideal because you can see the product inside (especially if you have more than 1 palette in different shades). For £3.50, you get 11 grms of product.

In the kit, you get 2 concealers (one matches your skin colour, the other should match your skin undertone), and 1 highlighter. The concealers are very creamy and highly pigmented, so you only need a small amount of product to achieve perfect coverage. They are also oil free, so they are also suitable for persons who have oily skin (like me).

With this palette, you can either mix the 2 different shades of concealers on your hand by using a small concealer brush to achieve the perfect match for your skin tone, or you can use them individually.

I normally use the more salmon coloured one to conceal the dark circles under my eyes, and the middle concealer to conceal the rest of the imperfections: around the nose, around the mouth etc. I also use the middle shade to highlight the bridge of my nose before applying powder. I then use the highlighter on my cupid's bow and on my cheek bones.

I haven't had any problems with creasing, but I always apply some powder on top to fix it.

  5. Great review..I have bought this kit too and i chose natural - medium rose and i am still not sure whether this is match my skin tone. I am an asian and many people refer my skin to an olive skin and i pretty sure my undertone skin is warm.

    1. Thanks. My skin is also olive (and I usually have a tan and not burn in summer) and I think that the Porcelain-Beige I have matches my skin tone really well. You should try it too now that they're offering the 50% and free shipping.

    3. haha, it is nearly impossible to burn in English weather, but here in my country (I'm from Malta) temperatures easily reach 40 degrees so I put on a little bit of suncream just to make sure I'm not burnt to a crisp! =)

    1. The concealer on the left has salmon-y undertone which works quite well with my skin tone but I'm not sure it would work so well on very pale skins. The one in the middle is really light though.

  11. Nyc review, this sound lovely! MUA seems to be one of those brands that have amazing products! I've heard nothing bad of the brand before! MUA products always seem to come out with products that seem to be really amazing for the price you pay. This kit seem pretty cool with the three shades to mix and match to make it work for your skin accordingly :) Thanks for sharing :)
