The Skin Shop Premium Secret BB Cream [Review]

Dear readers,

I'm still alive but I'm barely breathing.... and that's because [gulp!] my uni finals start next week [which explains my lack of posts] so if you please wish me luck 'cause I really need it >.<

Anyways ...

Earlier this year I entered a competition sponsored by The Skin Shop in collaboration with GiGs [aka Girls Inspired Group - check out their blog here, they're awesome] and I won! The prize consisted of Premium Snail Creams which I use on a daily basis [and I love], plus the Premium Secret BB cream on which this post is about.

This BB cream comes in professional looking packaging with gold detailing and it costs $44.90 (exc shipping) and you can get it from The Skin Shop website.

You get 50g.

It also comes with a pump - something which I look for in foundations / bb creams. The one that comes with this BB cream is excellent because it dispenses the right amount every time.

The Premium Secret BB Cream boasts that it is: 1) anti-wrinkling, 2) SPF37 and 3) oil controlling.

What makes me weary of sun protection in BB creams is the fact that it can give you a white cast in photos - and in fact this one slightly does, but I don't mind because it only slightly does so.

With regard to oil control - this one states that it has some kind of porous powder which helps control oiliness: I tried using it without setting it with powder and it does have oil controlling properties, but this only lasts about 1 hour on me since I have extremely oily skin - so I always set it with translucent powder when I use it. As they say, prevention is better than cure.

It offers light to medium coverage but it is certainly buildable. I also love using it instead of a base under my foundation to correct any redness etc.

This stays on for about 5-6 hours before it starts fading off.

The main problem with this BB cream is that it only comes in 1 shade which will be a tad too light for me during Summer, so most probably I will only use it in Winter.

Another thing which bugs me is that even though it says you get 50g, this tube appears to be nearly empty (which you can clearly see from the photos I took when it was still new).

I would re-purchase if it wasn't for the price, which in my opinion is a bit too expensive for a BB cream which does the same job as cheaper ones. Sorry!
