My Everyday Morning Make-Up Routine

Dear readers,

I thought I'd share with you all my everyday morning make-up routine, including all the products that I am currently using on a daily basis.

These products do change overtime [obviously I do try a number of new products every month so that I can review them] - but I've been using this ensemble for the past month or so.

This might seem a lot to a lot of people, but I normally spend about 5 minutes every morning to finish my makeup [honest!]

Step 1: Base
 For mornings I usually use BB creams - which are more lightweight than foundations. I can also slather these on using just my fingers - saving time. At the moment I am using a mixture of;

Pupa Milano's BB Cream + Primer [review here]
Holika Holika Petit Clearing BB Cream [review here]

This is because the Pupa BB Cream* is a tad too dark for my skin tone but I love it - so I mix it with the lighter Holika Holika BB cream.

Step 2: Concealer
 I love a really light undereye - so I like a really high coverage concealer. At the moment I am using;

Catrice's Camouflage Cream [review here]
Tony Moly's Baby Doll Concealer [review here]

It is either one or the other, but I love love love Tony Moly's concealer. I've bought this a number of times and I've nearly finished this one up [although I do have a new one on the way] - it is really but really cheap - around $5-ish if I'm not mistaken and works wonders.

Both concealers can go on cake-y - but this can easily be fixed by using a really light hand and minimum amount.

Step 3: Setting Powder
I'd been using as setting powder by Nyx for the past couple of months, but then I remembered that I had this one and started using it again.

It's the ELF High Definition Powder [review here]

I do not really like the packaging [check out the link for a more in-depth review] but I do like the powder. Obviously I have to use powder because I have oily/combination skin.

Step 4: Eyeliner
Now I sometimes skip eyeliner altogether when I'm in a real rush. I've been using this;

Essence Liquid Ink Waterproof Eyeliner

For the longest time ever. I just love love love this - I can't state this enough. It is dirt cheap and works a dream. It is a brush kind of eyeliner [which might take some time getting used to] but this is by far the best eyeliner I've ever used [and I've tried loads].

I'll have to do an in-depth review of this soon.

Step 5: Mascara
I am a hoarder. Yep, there I've said it. At the moment I have about 10 open tubes of mascaras. Most of them are unloved and forgotten.

Two of my most favourite ones are:

L'Oreal Faux Cils Mascara [review here]
Catrice Mini Maxi Mascara

I sometimes use either one or the other or both at the same time. It depends on how on time or late am I. I've heard that the Mini Maxi mascara is going to be discontinued so I'll have to stock on that one.

Step 6: Blusher
I ADORE this one;

Benefit's Benetint

This bottle comes from the 'Primping with the Stars' set [which I have yet to review]. I'll cry when I'll finish this. Seriously. You only need a tiny amount of this and it lasts all day [and night] long. It also gives a really natural, healthy flush to your cheeks. This is the pricier of all of my other 'routine' products but it is well worth the hype.

This can also be used on the lips.

P.s I also use some kind of lipbalm but I've forgotten to take any photos. But yeah, I wake up with quite dry lips.

That's it for my morning make-up routine. Do you use less or more products than me? Let me know!

Lorraine
xoxo

  1. I laughed that you are a hoarder :) sometimes you get the best results with 2 mascara but 10 open tubes wow. Be careful babe with mascara it leads to a pretty nasty infection. Steph x

    1. Yes I know - it's just that I sometimes buy ones which I think that I will like but I don't - and then I feel bad if I throw them away since they're new [yep - hoarding tendencies there] so they just lay there at the far end of my makeup drawers. Yep, guilty as charged.

  2. I love Camouflage Cream too! It's a perfect dupe for Benefit's Boi-ing :)
