Essence Nail Moisturising Nail Polish Remover [Review]

Dear readers,

Whoever has tried/uses Essence products knows that this affordable brand has quite a number of excellent products (the waterproof liquid eye liner is one of them, for example).

...yesterday I painted my nails just before rushing out, and my nail polish got smudged. Now smudged nail polish is one of my pet peeves. So I had to go out buy a remover and a nail polish from university. I didn't want to spend a fortune because I do have remover and more nail polish than I will ever use in my lifetime, so I headed to the Essence stall. I bought a gorgeous blue Essence nail polish (more on that later) and the Nail Moisturising nail polish remover.

The remover comes in a standard plastic bottle. You get 150ml of product and I paid Euro 1.54 for it.

Now I hate doing bad reviews, but I must admit that this remover is absolute rubbish! It couldn't even take off one coat of polish. And I didn't even have any base/top coat on.

...and this has Acetone in it! So it is rather harmful to your nails, especially if you have soft, brittle or damaged nails.

As a matter of fact, I had to go and buy another bottle of remover to take off my polish.

The only good thing I can think of of this nail polish remover is its smell: it smells like coconut and papaya.

If you run out of remover, you'd better think twice before buying this one.

Have you ever tried this before?

Love,

Lorraine
xoxo

    1. I should have bought that one :/ I was surprised too because as this has acetone in it should have worked better and faster than non acetone ones. boq.

    1. Apart from myself, my friend who had 2 coats of polish on her natural nails tried using it and it took her a while to completely remove the polish. When I tried removing my polish with a different brand it removed all traces of polishes instantly. But I'm happy that it works for you :)

    2. Same as Lara! I use them both and find them both to be very good at removing polish!
