The Face Shop Black Head Clay Nose Pack [Review]

Dear readers,

When the first pore/blackhead removal strips were first introduced on the market, I went straight out to buy them. I remember that they did not really work all that well, and since then I have always been a bit wary of products that claim to remove blackheads.

...until I found this new product which I couldn't resist not buying.

The Face Shop Black Head Clay Nose Pack boasts that it is made from New Zealand volcanic clay. Unlike the usual blackhead removal strips, this comes in a tube. Not being a nose strip allows me to apply the product in all the knicks and crannies ha ha.

You get 50 ml in a 'toothpaste' like tube. I bought this for Euro 7.05 from Cosmetic Love but I found cheaper ones on E-Bay for as little as $5.80 / Euro 4.30.

I was so surprised by the consistency when I first tried it out: this looks and feels like chewing gum. Seriously.

To apply it, you smear it on your nose, allow 10-15 mins (or until it dries completely) and then gently peel it off. Finish off my using some toner and moisturizer (or just moisturizer will do).

The first time I used it, I was left in awe at how smooth my nose felt afterwards. I was also in awe of all the yuckiness it removed from my nose ha ha. This visibly removed my blackheads (ok, not all, but it removed quite a few). This also removes dead skin cells so most probably that is why my nose felt so smooth after. It did take longer than 15 mins (I left it on for about 30 mins I think) but that's fine as long as it works!

Another thing that I liked is that you are left with minimal residue once you peel it off - with other peel off masks I usually end up having to rub/peel off leftover bits because I rarely manage to peel it off in one go.

To cut a long story short, I love this! And I would repurchase it too.

p.s sorry for not taking before/after photos but the weather is so gloomy these days that it is so hard to take a good picture!

Love,

Lorraine
xoxo

  2. Always love reading your reviews, looks promising. I now use the strips, but its hard to get in the crease on the sides of my nose. So this might just be what I need haha.

  3. It really does look like toothpaste lol. I hate the blackheads on my nose but everything I have tried hasn't been that great. I'm gonna see if I can get it on Ebay in the UK.

    1. yeah, I hate mine too, even though they are now less obvious than before. I also squeeze the hell out of them (I know it sounds yucky but I just can't help it!). I've tried checking ebay out for you but I couldn't find any UK sellers for this particular item. And most probably it would be more expensive, better off buying it from ebay.com

  4. Wow Nyc review, I'm super impressed with this product. The first time I used it, the results weren't as good because I was in a hurry and didn't use a cleanser on my nose first. All the other times, I was very amazed at how much blackheads it actually pulled off. Better than any pore strip I've ever used. I like it better than the strips though because you can make sure all the spots on your nose are covered!
